Interior Design Show

Held every January for 4 days, IDS is a trade show attended by over 50,000 consumers and design industry professionals. Through our positioning work, we framed IDS as champions for design, a more confident take than in past years. Our design approach followed, with the IDS logo at the heart of the identity. The resulting system was flexible to work over a complex media buy, working with simple and complex amounts of information.

The IDS19 identity is based on the inherent geometry present in the IDS Logo — a consistent feature of the show from year to year.

Mapping the IDS Logo onto a 3D trimetric grid, two units emerge: one block based on the logo, and one based on a projection of the logo as a cube.

These blocks can be lined up and combined to become Ribbons. Ribbons can be designed, changed and combined with an infinite amount of variation.
